The electronic over hydraulic control stick makes the Holt Tree Spade easy to operate. The controller can be easily located inside the cab for optimal comfort and control.
Two powerful hydraulic cylinders guide each blade firmly into the ground. Our dual cylinder design provides greater control of the tree spading action, resulting in less wear and more efficient spading. Maintenance and servicing are easily done on our accessible cylinders. The twin cylinders also provide built-in back up. If one cylinder is damaged, it can be disconnected until repairs can be made while still being able to finish the job.
Each tower is covered on all 4 sides by a long life Nylon Glide Pad for the entire slide path. Each blade slides effortlessly with no binding and no greasing needed and last up to 2-3 times longer. Carrying the blade on all 4 sides means a tight rootball from top to tip of the blades.
Holt tree spades use 5/16" T1 Steel. The blades are truncated, sharpened and overlap for ulitimate digging and shearing. To increase their strength even more the blades are double reenforced at key stress point. These blades hold their shape and stand up to thousands and thousands of spading operations.
Two cyclinders open the spade for business. Letting you get the tree spade in position quicker and easier. The heavy duty hinge pins have the only grease nipples on the entire machine. The gate is held closed for spading by a mechanical lock taking all the pressure off the cylinders and producing tight root balls.
Holt tree spades are built for the demanding needs of the biggest producers. Easy servicing with O.R.B. and JIC fittings for better connections. The electrical system is protected from damage and Bulk Head connected.
Holt tree spades have a goose necked base, inside the digging blades. This allows the base to compress and keep the rootball intact while the blades dig in. It also cleans the blades during retract, handy for basketing and in muddy soil conditions.
